City of love, fashion, art and history. For centuries Paris has had a magical and powerful attraction. In the 'City of Light' romance is around every street corner, between historical monuments and the crème de la crème of modern architecture. Could Paris be the most beautiful city in the world?
There are countless attractions to visit in Paris. Too many to describe them all. Places you must visit include the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and on (or more) of the world-famous museums. Stare into the eyes of the Mona Lisa at the Musée du Louvre.
Here are some suggestions.
Paris means shopping. If money is no object, you can spend a fortune on the Champs-Élysees. Of course window shopping is also a nice pastime. Val d'Europe is also highly recommended. A large indoor shopping centre where you will find all the famous brands. For big discounts on brand names head for the nearby outlet La Vallée Village.
The French love food and that is reflected in the streets of Paris. On almost every street corner you will find pâtisserie. One look at the display in the window and your mouth will start to water. Biscuits, rolls, pastries and of course... Les macarons! At lunchtime make sure to take time to enjoy your meal, just as the French do.
For a special night out in Paris you should spend an evening at the Moulin Rouge or the Lido. These shows are famous "cabarets" where dancers still perform the cancan. Another exceptional experience is to have your portrait drawn by one of the street artists at Montmartre.
Two of the largest theme parks in France are near to campsite Le Chêne Gris. You can easily spend your day with zippers and on spectacular roller coasters (or perhaps just watch), or be amazed by the wonderful displays. Enjoy a fun-filled day at one of the theme parks and then head back to the campsite for a dip in the pool or to relax on your private veranda. What a perfect way to end the day!
In this magical fairytale world both young and old will experience a different adventure every day. Full of spectacular attractions, dazzling shows, and perhaps the best: unforgettable memories. The most famous theme park in Europe is mad up of two parts: the fairytale Disneyland° Park with five magical lands and the film world of Walt Disney Studios° Park with thrilling rides and crazy shows. The parks are next to one another. If you bump into Mickey and his friends, don't forget to take a photo of you all! All this is just a 20 minut drive from the campsite.
About 200 years ago the whole of Gaul (as France was then called) was occupied by Caesar's soldiers. The whole of Gaul? No, one small settlement remained courageously resistant. This small settlement was of course the village of Asterix and Obelix. That village is recreated in "Parc Asterix", a place known nowadays for its dizzying roller coasters. There are also plenty of attractions for those who are not looking for adventure, and of course for very young children. The drive from the campsite to the park takes one hour.
Tickets for both parks are available at le Chêne Gris reception so you can avoid the long queues at the ticket booths.
