Camping Information

Camping Information
Always wanted to camp close to Paris and Disneyland Paris? Then you have found exactly the right place. And where can you find this campsite? In the small village of Pommeuse in the department of Île-de-France. The village is a short distance from the campsite and is a good starting point for beautiful walks. For sports enthusiasts there is a modern outdoor fitness trail in the village.

Right behind the train station of Pommeuse is where you will find campsite Le Chêne Gris. No worries about noise as the trains are very quiet. Rather than cause any inconvenience, the nearness of the station is a big plus point because the train takes you to the heart of Paris in just 45 minutes!

On the campsite
Once you arrive at the campsite you can see the waterpark. The holiday mood will hit you immediately. After checking-in you can drive to your accommodation or pitch. While you unload your stuff form the car, the kids can start playing. Plenty to do at Camping Kids, the swimming pools and the playgrounds. On the first evening you probably won't want to cook. On the campsite you can pick up a take-away pizza, some tasty snacks or dine in the restaurant. When you do want to cook, simply head for the well-stocked campsite grocery shop.

Close to Disneyland and Paris
The biggest plus point of this campsite is definitely its location. A 20-minute drive from Disneyland Paris and 45 minutes by train from central Paris. So take your time to explore and soak up the whole experience.

Pommeuse is a small French village near Paris. Located in the department of Seine-et-Marne, Pommeuse is an ideal base for many interesting excursions. Staying at le Chêne Gris gives you the best of both worlds: the bustle and dynamism of the city on one hand and the quiet and green surroundings of the campsite on the other.

Excursions in the area

Naturally, Paris is number one on your 'to do' list. Take the train (which stops right in front of the campsite) and be in the heart of Paris within 45 minutes. No parking problems, enjoy the sights of the city straight away. You can buy a day pass for public transport at the campsite.

Disneyland® Paris
The land of Mickey & Minnie is just 20 minutes away from the campsite. Once there you find yourselfin a magical setting. Fun for both little ones and though daredevils. And also very affordable when combined with a stay at the campsite. Buy your tickets for Disneyland at the campsite so you can avoid the long queues at the entrance to the park.

But there's more...
Do you love Brie cheese? Good, then you should definitely visit Meaux, home of the world-famous "prince of cheeses". Meaux is a pleasant town where you can shop and enjoy a drink on the terraces. For even more thrilling entertainment you also can go to Parc Asterix. A unique theme park, named after the big Gaul comic character.

Our luxurious accommodation
At Iris Parc there is something to suit each type of camper. Do you like camping, but with all the luxury of home? Then on of our mobile homes is ideal. Always equipped with your own shower, toiler and kitchen. Some even have 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms always have comfortable beds, usually with pillows and duvets. The only thing you have to bring along are sheets, pillowcases, towels and your own belongings of course. Enjoy a fresh baguette on the (partly) covered veranda in the morning, and then perhaps have a BBQ there in the evening.

A tent with real beds and a kitchen
Looking for something luxurious, but more like real camping? Then spend your holiday in a fully equipped bungalow tent. As soon as you enter the tent you are back to the traditional style of camping. Only this time there are no (flat) air beds and basic one-pot meals cookes on a single burner. In our tents (choose from the Navajo and the Ottowa) you'll sleep in real beds and cook in your own kitchen, complete with a 4 burner hob and fridge. The tents are so spacious that you can stand upright and there is plenty of space to store your belongings. At night just flip a light switch, so no hunting around for a torch. True camping luxury!

Pleasant, spacious pitches
Of course a holiday using your own tent or caravan is always a pleasant and familiar experience. You can book a very spacious pitch on all of our campsites. Le Chêne Gris, Le Grand Dague and Le Château de Galaure offer 2 types of pitch: the standard pitch with 10A power and the pitch Comfort with 16A power, cold water supply and drainage. On Birkelt you have a choice of 3 types of pitch.

City of love, fashion, art and history. For centuries Paris has had a magical and powerful attraction. In the 'City of Light' romance is around every street corner, between historical monuments and the crème de la crème of modern architecture. Could Paris be the most beautiful city in the world?

Paris highlights
There are countless attractions to visit in Paris. Too many to describe them all. Places you must visit include the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and on (or more) of the world-famous museums. Stare into the eyes of the Mona Lisa at the Musée du Louvre.

Here are some suggestions.

Paris means shopping. If money is no object, you can spend a fortune on the Champs-Élysees. Of course window shopping is also a nice pastime. Val d'Europe is also highly recommended. A large indoor shopping centre where you will find all the famous brands. For big discounts on brand names head for the nearby outlet La Vallée Village.

The French love food and that is reflected in the streets of Paris. On almost every street corner you will find pâtisserie. One look at the display in the window and your mouth will start to water. Biscuits, rolls, pastries and of course... Les macarons! At lunchtime make sure to take time to enjoy your meal, just as the French do.

For a special night out in Paris you should spend an evening at the Moulin Rouge or the Lido. These shows are famous "cabarets" where dancers still perform the cancan. Another exceptional experience is to have your portrait drawn by one of the street artists at Montmartre.

Theme parks

Theme parks

Two of the largest theme parks in France are near to campsite Le Chêne Gris. You can easily spend your day with zippers and on spectacular roller coasters (or perhaps just watch), or be amazed by the wonderful displays. Enjoy a fun-filled day at one of the theme parks and then head back to the campsite for a dip in the pool or to relax on your private veranda. What a perfect way to end the day!

Disneyland® Paris
In this magical fairytale world both young and old will experience a different adventure every day. Full of spectacular attractions, dazzling shows, and perhaps the best: unforgettable memories. The most famous theme park in Europe is mad up of two parts: the fairytale Disneyland° Park with five magical lands and the film world of Walt Disney Studios° Park with thrilling rides and crazy shows. The parks are next to one another. If you bump into Mickey and his friends, don't forget to take a photo of you all! All this is just a 20 minut drive from the campsite.

Parc Astérix
About 200 years ago the whole of Gaul (as France was then called) was occupied by Caesar's soldiers. The whole of Gaul? No, one small settlement remained courageously resistant. This small settlement was of course the village of Asterix and Obelix. That village is recreated in "Parc Asterix", a place known nowadays for its dizzying roller coasters. There are also plenty of attractions for those who are not looking for adventure, and of course for very young children. The drive from the campsite to the park takes one hour.

Tickets for both parks are available at le Chêne Gris reception so you can avoid the long queues at the ticket booths.
